HOW DID WE DO IT?
Here’s The“Fix SC’s Roads” Story
We are justifiably proud of our work here at Push, as well as our client “wins”—in politics or otherwise. But sometimes we are fortunate enough to work on projects that really change things for the better.
One of our first advocacy clients here at Push was the South Carolina Alliance to Fix Our Roads. SCFOR hired us to try to get a dedicated funding source in place to take on the challenge of our state’s crumbling roads and bridges. The challenge WE took on was trying to convince a tax-averse Republican state legislature that an increase in SC’s gas tax was the only way to accomplish this task.
Our road from then until now was bumpy to say the least—outspent 10:1, threatened with vetoes (among other things!)…but it’s a story with a happy ending and we’re ready to tell it.
So, we’re starting a new blog series. We’ve sent emails, written blogs and published case studies. But the question people keep asking us is, “How exactly did you do it?” We could be cagey like magicians and refuse to reveal our secrets. But we’re not like that. We actually can’t stop telling this story. So we’re also going to take you through it, step by step, with short videos and sample digital advocacy work.
On that point, many potential clients have told us—or asked when I am at speaking engagements—that they know digital communications is important, but they’re not sure how it fits into what they are doing. I think this blog series will answer that question. And many more.
Watch for the series—it’ll be worth your time. And, if you have any questions, send them my way.
